on the 28 of Julay 2008 was contacted by the senior marketing manager of MRI in spain because, they wanted to send me for an inspection trip in romenia.
Actually MRI call come at the right time as I was going in vacation in Agoust in Italy (flight already booked) and as I was interested in the easter european property market I informed the marketing manager of MRI that considering my budget and my way of investing I would prefer something less risky that the romenian market where I need to use a higher percentage of banks money to purchase any proberty in bucarest.
So as the Bulgarian market is still cheap we decided to book a inspection trip for 125 pounds with MRI.
I gave my credit card and they said they would have booked the flight with Malev and refund me of the difference while I was there. ( it was confirmed in writing).
The total paid from my credit card was 352.89 pounds, so I would have get refunded there of 227.89 pounds.
During the inspection the MRI Representative showed me property and after I realised that the way they choose the property and the investment idea is not compatible with me regarding the property purchase in Bulgaria. I have to say that the sale representative during these period was aggressive and insulted me because he wanted convince me of something that I was absolutely wrong about bulgaria and the specially sunny beach. Actually in Bulgaria now is very difficult now to sell property and the resale market is even worst.

He try to sell with an old investment strategy that is not adapt for cash buyer like me.
So after insulting me becasue I was not taking his advices seriously. The last day he left me on the road while he was driving because I said clearly that I was not going to buy with them.
In these tree days he forced me to not see other agents and look at real property market in Bulgaria checking as well other advices.
At the end of the trip I had to take the bus to get to the airport 120 Km from where they were located without any help from them. I have to say as well that the hotel was canceled so I did not sleep last night in the hotel that they booked for me and It was the 16th of agoust without any hope to find any others hotel available.
The refund was never given back and the execuse was bacause I did not buy after the hammering selling strategy that did not work with me.
I beleive this HAPPENED to other people as well. So with this email I would like to open a forum and after find a group of people to understand if they worked following the legality or if this is completely wrong and they have to refund me and pay as well the damages for the horrible exsperience that I had in Bulgaria.

it also happened to me they promised that i will get refund for my flight-£99, and they will pay for my accomodation, not only they did not refund me but also they charged me for the accomodation( they used my credit card)
The same thing happened to me and my auntie while on an inspection trip in Cyprus - we were out of pocket by over £400 - initially, we asked for time to think it over, but this was refused and we were driven around building sites to be shown properties that were not appropriate for the sake of it, we decided not to buy property because we felt the sales man Andrew was threatening and aggressive informing us we would have to explain to his manager why we did not buy and also dragging us off to their solicitors hoping to scare us into buying. I have written to Head Office in Spain re refund which was agreed in writing prior to trip but no response. Want to take this further but don't know who to complain to - has anyone had any luck?
You are not alone there are many people out there who have lost money to this company.
I am collecting people's accounts of their dealings with this company and the 'independant' companies it recommends. These are being passed to an MP who is looking seriously at this matter.

MRI succeeded in selling an off plan apartment to me in their Aspen Valley development in Bansko. They have since contravened the contract. I would like to claim my deposit back legally. Please contact me if you have been similarly abused and would like to join forces.
I have written to Watchdog at the BBC as they did a documentary on the Chairman McAndrew - but to date no response - am planning on going to see the CAB to see if they have any ideas - yes we all need to join forces - this company is shameless.

Paid deposit for off plan property in Bulgaria. I need to get my deposit back we were forced to sign documents. Is there anyone out there who can help
